Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information MailSized (“we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed MailSized with minimal data collection and short retention by default.
What we collect
- Account/contact: Your email address (required) to send your download link and updates.
- Files you upload: Your source video and the compressed output. We also read technical metadata (e.g., duration, resolution) to perform compression.
- Payment: Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see full card numbers.
- Usage & logs: Basic HTTP logs (IP, user agent, timings) for reliability, security, and abuse prevention.
- Support: If you contact us, we’ll collect the details you submit (email, subject, message).
How we use information
- Compress and deliver your video according to the email provider target you choose.
- Send your download link and transactional notifications.
- Operate, protect, and improve the service (monitoring, debugging, preventing abuse/fraud).
- Respond to support requests.
File retention & deletion
We automatically delete the uploaded source and compressed output after the download window (about 30 minutes by default). This is managed by our job cleanup process. If you need an exception for troubleshooting, contact us before the window ends.
Payments
We use Stripe to process payments. Your payment details are handled by Stripe and do not pass through our servers. See Stripe’s privacy documentation for more information.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only as needed to operate the service (e.g., payments with Stripe, email delivery with Mailgun/SMTP), comply with law, or protect our rights and users.
Security
- Transport encryption (HTTPS) is required.
- Optional Stripe webhook signature verification (enabled when configured).
- Security headers set to reduce common risks (X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy, etc.).
- Short file retention by default; automated cleanup tasks run post-delivery.
Cookies & analytics
We aim to operate with minimal cookies. If ad placements or performance monitoring are enabled in the future, we will update this page and provide any required consent tools.
Your choices & rights
- You can request deletion of support correspondence.
- To request access or deletion for logs associated with your activity, contact us; we’ll verify your request.
- You can opt out of non-essential emails (we only send transactional messages by default).
Changes
We may update this policy to reflect product or legal changes. We’ll adjust the “Effective date” and post the updated version here.
